Native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Michele is a graduate of Delaware State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology in 2004. Her research experience includes work at John’s Hopkins University, the University of Pennsylvania and Glaxo SmithKline Pharmaceutical Company. After graduation she went on to work for the Department of Human Service and Lutheran Children Family Services in Philadelphia as a Social Worker for the SCOH and Foster Care Programs for over 5 years. Concurrently she pursued her BSN degree at Drexel University in the Accelerated Nursing Program. Michele’s nursing experience includes Neurotrauma ICU, LTACH and Women’s Health at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital. While at Penn, she sat on the Breastfeeding Taskforce, Patient Safety and Education Committees and was a member of the Unit Council for Nursing. In 2012 she graduated from Philadelphia University where she obtained her Master’s in Midwifery Science. Michele joined All About Women in 2013. She is a member of ACNM, Midwives of Color and MANA. She believes that midwifery is a family centered health profession focusing on women as partners in their care through wellness and prevention. She emphasizes facilitating a safe, satisfying childbirth for families through nurturing and spending time to know each patient’s individual needs throughout their experience. She prides herself on providing compassionate care. Michele is married and has 1 child.
